Cylinder Head

SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.

 

Removal

 

Remove the cylinder head cover. See the Cylinder Head Cover topic for more information.

 

Remove the camshaft. See the Camshaft topic for more information...

 

 

Install the two lower cylinder head nuts. Tighten the nuts to specification with a 10 mm wrench.

 

(Lower Cylinder Head Nut Torque: 10 N-m or 7 lb-ft)

 

Tighten the cylinder base nuts if the cylinder was removed. Torque the cylinder base nuts to specification with a 10 mm socket.

 

(Cylinder Base Nut Torque: 10 N-m or 7 lb-ft)

 

 

Insert the rear cam chain guide into the engine as shown. Install the cam chain guide pivot bolt with a new sealing washer. Tighten the bolt securely with a 12 mm socket.

Install the cylinder head cover. See the Cylinder Head Cover topic for more information.
